Not content with pushing the boundaries and releasing some of the very best red wines in Bordeaux in 2000 Jean Luc Thunevin and Murielle Andraud decided to keep a plot from the Château Valandraud vineyard and started the production of a white wine: Valandraud Blanc was born.
It's an unusual blend consisting of rare 50% Sauvignon Gris, along withe more traditional 40% Sauvignon Blanc, 10% Semillon. Just 5000 bottles were released and these were aged on the lees, 80% new barrels of 225, 300, and 500L and 20% in 1-year barrels.
