Description

In Irish mythology, a mystical place lies beyond the Coast of Ireland, far out across the sea. Said to be the home of the Irish Sea God ‘Mac Lir’, these mystical islands, known as the ‘Otherworld’, are invisible to the naked human eye, devoid of sickness and death, and a place of eternal youth and beauty. One only reaches these islands by conquering the Ninth Wave, the greatest of all waves and the barrier that separates the Earthly world from the Otherworld. With nine botanicals, including lemon verbena, cardamom and orange peel, the gin is a tasty balance of aromatic spice and citrus, presented in a suitable wavy bottle.

Producer

Hinch Distillery is located in Killaney Estate, just outside Ballynahinch in County Down. The distillery takes its name from the nearby town of Ballynahinch, whose name in Irish translates as ‘town of the island’.

The distillery has three Pot stills, 10,000Lt, 5,500Lt and 2,500Lt with a capacity of over 3 million bottles of Single Malt and Pot still per year. I

Hinch Distillery has since launched five new small batch aged whiskies and their gin, Ninth Wave, which draws inspiration from Irish mythology.
