Description

A recreation of the original Orinoco Bitters that were made by the Blemmerg Manufacturing Company in Boston during the late 1800s. These featured heavily in George Winter’s book, ‘How to Mix Drinks: The Barkeeper’s Handbook’. Named after the famous South African river these are flavoured with botanicals that include Dried Chamomile Flowers, Dried Orange Peel, Green Cardamom Pods, Ceylon Cinnamon, Cassia Bark,Red Sandalwood & Raisins. These work great in an pink G&T or in a Corn and Oil Cocktail.

Bitters are considered by some to be the unsung heroes of the cocktail world and have, in recent years, become highly sought-after. Released in the summer of 2011, Dr. Adam Elmegirab released the Aphrodite Bitters, named after the Greek goddess of sexuality and love

These Bitters pay tribute to the original medicinal usage of bitters, with the botanicals selected for this bottling having been chosen for their alleged aphrodisiac qualities, aphrodisiacs being substances that are believed to increase desire. A perfect addition to any cocktail!
