The Connacht Whiskey Company Ltd. is the result of a dream shared by four men, three Americans and one Irishman, to bring single malt pot still Irish whiskey back to the West of Ireland after an absence of over 100 years.
Master distiller, Robert Cassel,l custom-designed the three pot stills for the sole purpose of making great Irish whiskey. The distillery, located on the banks of the River Moy in Mayo, is a far cry from when it was originally a bakery for the Duffy family.
The distillery has been busy since opening its doors in 2017, producing a number of whiskies, a vodka, and a poitin. Their Brothership Blended Whiskey was recently awarded a Gold Medal and 92 points (Excellent, Highly Recommended) at the 2017 Ultimate Spirit Challenge.
