Named after John Shenk, the person who founded the distillery in 1753 and would later become Michter's in the 20th century. This Kentucky sour mash whiskey is made with a high rye mashbill. A portion was aged in toasted French oak barrels that were made from 24-month air-dried wood sourced from the Vosges region and selected by Michter's master of maturation Andrea Wilson. Full-bodied and smooth complemented by a deep flavor profile with intense notes of caramel and dried fruit thanks to aging in Chinquapin oak casks.
