George T. Stagg built the most dominant American distillery of the 19th century, during a time known as the Gilded Age of Bourbon. He started as a whiskey salesman in St. Louis, and, working with E. H. Taylor, went on to be one of America’s most revered distillers. Today, the company is owned by Buffalo Trace and has gone on to win numerous awards for their whiskies such as 2019 Gold Medal - Los Angeles International Spirits Competition, 2019 Chairman's Trophy - 98 points - Ultimate Spirits Challenge, and 2019 Gold Medal - San Francisco World Spirits Competition
