The Schiopetto winery is one of the oldest wineries in the Collio region, which includes terraced vineyards between the towns of Gorizia and Cividale with a vineyard area of around 1,600 hectares. Founder and namesake Mario Schiopetto, who died at the age of 72, is referred to as a pioneer of Friulian viticulture. The farm, situated on the rolling hills of Capriva del Friuli in the province of Gorizia, is now owned by Dottore Emilio Rotolo, who also owns the Volpe Pasini winery.
