Description

The 14 year old expression is the core bottling from Oban distillery and was an original member of Diageo's Classic Malt range (representing the Western Highlands). Distilled slowly a short distance from the sea in one of Scotland's oldest and smallest distilleries, Oban whisky is the fruit of a tradition that has remained unchanged for 200 years. A much loved single malt that can be hard to find in alternative expressions. It is relatively full-bodied with a hint of sea air and more than just a whiff of smoke.

Producer

Oban distillery is located in the Scottish west coast port of Oban. Established in 1794, it was built before the town of the same name, which sprung up later in the surrounding craggy harbour. The distillery is owned by Diageo. It has only two pot stills, making it one of the smallest in Scotland. Oban whiskey has been described as having a "West Highland" flavour that falls between the dry, smoky style of the Scottish islands and the lighter, sweeter malts of the Highlands.

The distillery is known for its 14 Year Old which forms part of Diageo's Classic Malts range.
