Louis Roederer

Initially founded as Dubois Père & Fils in 1776 until Louis Roederer inherited the company from his uncle in 1833. The champagne house grew in popularity abroad. Tsar Nicholas II nominated Louis Roederer as the official wine supplier to the Imperial Court of Russia. Louis Roederer experienced financial difficulties due to the Russian Revolution and the U.S. Prohibition during the early 20th century. The House recovered and was re-established as a leading Grandes Marques producer.

The total annual production of Roederer is approximately 3.5 million bottles, of which 70–80% is Louis Roederer Brut Premier.

It remains today as one of the only still independent and family-run maisons de champagne (champagne houses). Over 3.5 million bottles of Louis Roederer champagne are shipped each year to more than 100 countries.

After he inherited the house in 1833, Louis Roederer mastered every aspect of winemaking to form his unique style.
