Description

A superb Vermouth with an unusual name. Some reports mention that it was named after an Italian stockbroking term, others that one particular stock broker customer order it in a local dialect (it means one and a half in Piedmontese). The name stuck and locals eventually were able to order it with a simple gesture of raising a thumb (punt) and tracing a horizontal line (mes), perhaps this is the stockbroking gesture. A rich a sweet Vermouth with plenty of quinine and citrus peel flavours at its heart.

Producer

1786, Turin, marks the year when Antonio Benedetto Carpano, an aspiring herbalist, invented the formula which was to give rise to the category of Vermouth products, by combining herbs and spices with muscatel.

Today, Carpano is as loved in Italy as it is in other countries all around the world.
