Balmenach Distillery
Balmenach Distillery, located on the banks of the River Spey , was established in 1824 by James McGregor, from a family of farmers and illicit distillers who resided in Tomintoul. The distillery is one of Speyside's most traditional distillery and makes what can be considered 'old-style' whisky. In 2009, Balmenach began production of its Celtic gin, Caorunn.
