Mozart Distillery

Mozart Distillerie (previously known as H.C. König) resides in the Austrian city of Salzburg, the birthplace of prolific Classical era composer, Wolfgang Amedeus Mozart. The company began making their chocolate spirits in 1954. They compare their blending of different elements to make their liqueurs in a similar way to a work of music. The Mozart Distillerie use sound-milling as part of their production process. The Andante from Mozart's String Quartet No. 2 in D major, K. 155 is played into each batch approximately 380 times (during a 24-hour period) as part of the manufacturing process, which they describe as "soundmilling". In addition, ultrasound is used in order to pulverise the cocoa and achieve a smoother consistency in the finished product.

Mozart Liqeuers are short, round, bottles that contrast with the tall bottles often used for liqueurs and can be found in a wide range of chocolate flavours.
